Chevrolet Silverado & GMC Sierra Diesel Engine Push Back!

By  |

Diesel truck drivers have been waiting patiently for the GM diesel trucks but it looks like they will have to wait a little longer for that as GM pushes it back.

According to GM, the stricter testing protocols for the EPA certification is the real reason why GM is having so much trouble bring their Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra with the 3.0 liter inline six diesel Duramax engines to the US market.

It was initially promised that the engine will be offered in 2019 but we will now have to wait until the 2020 models arrive to get the engine powered models. The engines will be offering about277hp and 460lb ft of torque.

GM is not the only automaker that is affected by the stricter certification process as automakers like BMW also had to delay the launch of four of their diesel models in 2016 because of the testing.
