Dodge Challenger Smashes Another Record Without Demon’s Help

When Dodge launched the Challenger Demon, we really thought that this is the limit for the Challenger nameplate and all that is left now is for Dodge to launch a new-generation model. Well, we were wrong.

About a month ago, Dodge announced on the Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 and this vehicle is claimed to be the world’s fastest quarter-mile car under the pure engine category.

Pure engine means that the mill on the Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 does not feature any turbochargers, superchargers or electric motors. The engine is purely a natural-aspirated 6.4L V8 unit that can develop 485hp and 475ft-lbs of torque.

Dodge revealed that the car has got the fastest drag performance in the pure-engine scene but they have yet to offer on a specific quarter-mile timing to justify the record-breaking claim.
