FCA Recalled Some Rams Over Locking Power Tailgate

About a year ago, FCA had to recall some of their Rams over a locking power tailgate issue but that episode is not over for them yet as FCA now have to add more Ram models to the list.

In the first recall, the 2015 to 2017 Ram 500, 2500 and 3500 with five and six-foot beds were recalled and now they are recalling the right foot beds models for the same issue.

The first recall affected close to 1.6 million Ram trucks while this recall will affect another 410,351 units of the Ram models. The issue was that the actuator limiter tab for the power locking mechanism could fracture which would then allow the lock-rod control to move more than it should.

FCA added that no accidents or injuries related to the issue were reported. The fix for the issue will only take 30 minutes as the dealer will remove the tailgate cover and install a stop block to stop the pivot arm from going too far.
