Ford Mustang GT500 May Slap A Turbine On Coyote

If you have been following news about the next-gen Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, then you are probably in relax mode as is confirmed to stick with a V8 engine.

Earlier this month, a leak internal document went viral online and it teased on what sort of V8 the next-gen Mustang Shelby GT500 is going to run on. The only unfortunate thing here is that the leak is written in codes hence there is no certainty to the type of V8 engine.

If the rumours are to be referred to, the codes are near-identical to the Coyote V8 mill hence the additional characters suggest on the application of twin-turbochargers. Such a setup will allow the Mustang GT500 to develop more than 700hp and this is something we are certainly excited to see.

But then again, the above is based on rumours hence you should take it with a grain of salt. All will be confirmed when the GT500 make its debut at the Detroit Auto Show next month.
