Ford Mustang Shelby GT500: Is This The V8 You Wanted?

By  |

Ford has already confirmed that they are developing the next-gen Mustang Shelby GT500 and it sparked a debate on whether the car will be track-focussed to compete with the Camaro ZL1 1LE or if the car is going to be a straight-line monster aimed at challenging the Dodge Demon.

Either outcome is welcomed by the GT500 fans as they are more concerned about the powertrain that will rest under the hood of the vehicle. Ford has confirmed on the application of a V8 engine but they never shared on the sort of mill that will be offered with the vehicle.

If rumours are to be referred to, the V8 will either be an improved version of the Voodoo mill or it will be a turbocharged engine.

Today, we got a better clue on this after Mustang6g found an internal document that has led them to believe the mill is going to be a 5.2L supercharged V8 with an expected output of about 650hp. The mill is nicknamed the Predator and you can refer more on the leak document below.

So, do you think the 5.2L supercharged V8 will be a good fit for the highly anticipated Mustang?
