Forget Nissan Leaf, Tesla Model 3 Must Fear BMW 3-Series

By  |

Most of us here are excited for the next-gen Nissan Leaf as we fully expect the car to give the upcoming Tesla Model 3 a big fight. But when it comes to slaying the Model 3, the Nissan Leaf should move aside because this is a task reserved for BMW.

The Bavarian automaker revealed earlier today that they are proceeding to develop an EV sedan that is based on the 3-Series. The car is hoping to arrive with at least 300 miles of driving range and it will have all the features of a 3-Series.

This is some exciting stuff as we believe that the 3-Series Electric can school Tesla on the meaning of luxury. Photos of the Model 3 have confirmed on an underwhelming interior and this is where the 3-Series Electric can score big.

Also, knowing that a standard 3-Series is priced from $34,445, we can expect the EV variant to retail around $40,000 and this will certainly allow the car to give the Model 3 a run for its money. Are you excited?

The 320i starts at low $30k, it is not possible for BMW to make a 300 miles range 3 series EV for less than $50k. The i3 with range of around 120 miles is already more than $40k.

You can dream, but it is just a dream.
