Honda CR-V Engine Issues Lead To Longer Warranty

New Honda CR-V owner will now get some extra benefit as Honda is looking to extend the warranty of some of their models after some engine issue was discovered.

According to the reports, Honda will be looking to extend the warranty of some of their models. These could include 2017 to 2018 Honda CR-V models as well as 2016 – 2018 Honda Civic models that are fitted with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

Honda started working on fixing some of the models last year that include updated the engine and the transmission software. The fix also includes an oil change and more. They later explain that the oil levels rising issue was because gasoline has not vaporized in combustion washing back down and mixing with the oil.

Because of the issue, Honda is looking to extend the powertrain warranty of about 1 million unit models in the US. Those that are eligible will be notified by Honda this month. With this, instead of 5 years, owners will now have six years of warranty.
