Honda Fit & Civic Owners Pay More For Insurance Than Ford Mustang

If you are under the age of 25 and are looking to purchase your first car, you might get confused with the fee incurred when insuring the vehicle. It is already expansive to pay for your own car insurance when you are young and the choice of car will also influence the charges.

In case you are unaware, paying insurance for a brand new Honda Fit or the latest Honda Civic will cost you more than $600 for 6 months. On the other hand, car insurance for a brand new Mustang V6, Mustang EcoBoost and Mustang GT will cost under the $500 mark.

At first, the figures don’t make sense since the Mustang is a pure performance car whereas the Civic and the Fit are considered as econoboxes with the best safety features around.

We spoke to an insurance agency and they revealed that the fee also depends on the vehicle purchased. The thing is that more under 25 owners of the Fit and Civic tends to make more insurance claims hence the firm has decided to charge more. The Mustang might be a sports vehicle but the lack of claims made it cheaper to insure.
