Hyundai Santa Cruz Given The Greenlight!

After months of talk, Hyundai has finally announced that they will be building the Hyundai Santa Cruz compact pickup. Here is what we know right now.

According to Hyundai, the truck for the North American market will be built in 2021 at the Montgomery, Alabama assembly plant which is where the Sonata and Elantra are being built at right now. To turn the plant into a compact pickup truck builder, they will be investing $410 million to further expand the facility.

We got to see the Hyundai Santa Cruz concept truck a few years ago at the Detroit Auto Show but we are not sure how much of that concept will actually make it to the production version.

With production only starting in 2021, the compact pickup will most likely only come in as a 2022 model.
