Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk: Track Test Confirms Misleading Name!

By  |

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is a massive SUV that operates on the monstrous 707hp V8 engine sourced from Dodge Hellcat. With such a setup, there is zero need to question the speed that comes with the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

That is, of course, until today when major automotive reviewers have brought out a detailed report on how the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk performs when placed on an actual track. The latest report came from TheSmokingTire and it saw the SUV letting loose on a proper road course instead of a drag strip.

The result – disappointing. Despite scoring big on the drag strip, the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk was unable to offer a strong track performance and this is blamed on its overweight setup and poor handling.

It was then when we realized that Jeep shouldn’t have used the term Trackhawk in the name of the vehicle. The ideal nomenclature should be the Grand Cherokee Hellhawk, wouldn’t you agree?
