Jeep Renegade: New Base Trim Will Make Towing Cheaper

By  |

Getting the Jeep Renegade for its towing functions can cause a headache for those on a tight budget and this is especially when the vehicle’s towing abilities are restricted to trims that rely on the 2.4L engine.

Well, for 2019, this will look to change after Jeep announced on a brand-new base trim for the Renegade. The new trim will come together with a new motor and it is a 1.3L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that can develop 177hp and 200ft-lbs of torque.

Such a mill can bring greater towing capabilities which means that you are no longer restricted to the 2.4L engine. While not official yet, we expect Jeep to promote this new mill with 4×4 configuration for the cheapest tow-capable Renegade.

More details on the 2019 Renegade is expected to surfaced at the LA Auto Show next month and we will update here accordingly. Stay tuned.
