There were already speculations that FCA could be working on a six-cylinder engine for their vhicles and it looks like we might have more information about that now.

According to the reports, FCA is working on a straight six turbocharged engine that would be better than the 5.7 Hemi power rating and will also have a smoother torque curve. It also added that the engine might make its first appearnace with the next0gen Jeep Grand Cherokee or the Jeep Wagoneer.

With BMW and Mercedes now offering somethiing similar, having a straight six of their own would allow FCA to compete with BMW and Mercedes and also Jaguar and Aston Martin in the future.

It is said that the engine is undergoing some durabolity test right now and that we will prabably have to wait a little longer before we hear anything from FCA.
