Kia Niro Overheating Issue Leads To Recall

By  |

Kia will be recalling some of their Niro model that after was reported that they might have discovered an issue with the electrical relay.

According to the reports, the Niro Hybrid and Niro Plug-in Hybrid model will be recalled in the UK as the electrical relay can overheat. They added that no fires or injuries caused by the issue were reported.

The recall will affect about 020 units of the models. Those affected will be models that we made from November 2016 until September 2017. Models will be inspected by Kia and those with the issue will get their relays replaced for free.

The process will only take about one hour. At this point, we do not know if only the UK market will be affected or if Kia also plans to issue the same recall for the other markets as well.

While Kia work on fixing the older Kia Niro models, they have also revealed the facelifted Niro Hybrid and Plug-In model last month.
