Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Gets New Diesel Option But…

By  |

Those looking at the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross will be glad to know that there is now a new diesel engine option available but only for those living in Japan.

The diesel model will be fitted with a 2.2-liter diesel engine that will be offering about 143hp and 280lb ft of torque which is slightly lower than what the Europe diesel model is offering.

The engine will be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. According to Mitsubishi, the diesel engine is a clean diesel because of the Urea Selective Catalytic Reduction water system that will break down and remove nitrogen oxides from the exhaust gas and thus making it cleaner. The diesel engine will be available in four trim options, M, G, G Plus and Black Edition.

If diesel is not your thing, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross will be offered with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline four engine that will be offering about 148hp and 177lb ft of torque.
