Porsche has made it clear from the start that the Porsche 911 will have some sort of electrification when it arrives and we now have some additional details about the upcoming plug-in 911.

According to Porsche, their experience with the Porsche Cayenne and Porshe Panamera hybrids along with the 918 Spyder gave them the base idea of what the Porsche 911 needed to have.

The vehicle will be using a disc-shaped electric motor in the back that will be fitted with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The renewed PDK is shorter now but t can handle massive torque. The four-wheel drive system was also upgraded to deliver 50% power to the front wheels.

The battery will now be fitted in the front. The engine numbers have not been revealed yet but it is estimated that the vehicle could be offering about 578hp and 686lb ft of torque.
