Next Ford GT500: Mustang Struck By Dodge Demon, Chevy Camaro Dilemma!

By  |

In the pace of one year, we witnessed the arrival of two great muscle cars – the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE and the Dodge Challenger Demon. Despite carrying the same muscle label, both vehicles are tailored to perform on different fields.

The Camaro ZL1 1LE, with all of its 650hp, can achieve some of the best times on the track. The Dodge Demon, on the other hand, is built to excel on the drag strip.

The next name to step into the competition is the ultimate Ford Mustang – the Shelby GT500. Ford has already confirmed that the next-gen GT500 will run on a V8 engine and the car is in the works but we have not heard on any progression with the vehicle for a long while now.

The rumours have kept on claiming that the next-gen Mustang Shelby GT500 is just around the corner but such an outcome never happened. So, where’s the next-gen GT500?

Our best bet would be somewhere in 2018, next year and the secrecy as well as delays are caused by the arrival of the Camaro ZL1 1lE and the Dodge Challenger Demon. Both vehicles are really good at fulfilling their purpose hence Ford is in dilemma on whether they want to turn the GT500 into a track beater or tune the car for straight line glory.

We simply can’t think of any other reasons to why it is taking Ford a long time to offer us anything in regards to the next-gen GT500 – unless you know something that we don’t.
