Next Ford Mustang GT500: Supercharge V8s Got One Part Right!

By  |

Come next year, Ford is going to launch the next-gen Mustang Shelby GT500 and the vehicle promises to be a big leap forward from the existing model. Ford has been dropping hints on the things coming with the next GT500 and it allows us to confirm on two things.

The first is that the next GT500 will be relying on a V8 engine and the second is that the car will be built with more aluminum parts to drag the overall weight down. Such a setup makes it certain that the next Mustang GT500 will be better optimized for power.

Today, new rumors surfaced claiming that the V8 engine coming with the next-gen Mustang GT500 is going to be supercharged and this will allow the car to churn out a whopping 680hp. While it may sound exciting, the rumors contradict to Ford’s recent statement about keeping V8s pure for the Mustang.

Because of this, we don’t think the rumors are right about the application of supercharger hence you should take it with a grain of salt. At least the rumors got one part right and it is with the V8 engine powering the next Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.
