Every passing day brings us closer to the release of the US-bound Ford Ranger and it also brings out more information on the vehicle.

Just hours ago, Ford made a major reveal on the Ranger when they revealed on a trim on the vehicle. As how it was reported by Ranger5g, the 2WD Extended Cab trim will rely on the 2.3L EcoBoost turbocharged 4-cylinder mill.

This is the exact same engine that is used on the Ford Focus RS and it may leave you wondering if the sporty mill can return a good utility performance. Well, the answer to this is a straight yes as the 2.3L unit has been re-tuned to return a maximum payload of 1,840lbs and max towing of 7,000lbs on the Ranger.

The numbers are massive and they are significantly better than what is being offered on the Toyota Tacoma and Chevrolet Colorado. At this rate, the Ranger is bound to make an impactful debut in 2019.
