Next Ford Shelby GT500 May Tweak V8 To Promote EcoBoost

Ford has been producing some amazing performance cars in recent years and this is why we are excited for the next-gen Mustang Shelby GT500. The high-output pony car will be slotted above the GT350R and it is expected to get released next year.

The certainty with the next GT500 is that the car is going to have plenty of power to offer and it will be offered with two engine options. The first is a V8 engine like how it is in the past and the second is a biturbo EcoBoost V6 unit.

The way we see it, Ford may tweak the V8 engine so that it will help boost the image of their EcoBoost technology. The latest generation Mustang came out with the same V6 unit that was offered on its predecessor but it came with slightly smaller power figures. This is so that the 2.3L EcoBoost mill will appear more appealing in the eyes of the consumers.

But of course, the above is just based on our suspicion on the matter. Will the V8 engine move forward or will it get tweaked to promote the EcoBoost technology for the Shelby GT500?
