Next-Gen Toyota 86 & Subaru Twin Given Greenlight

There were already talks about Toyota and Subaru looking to release a successor for the 86 and the BRZ but nothing was confirmed until now.

The automakers announce this week that they want to expand their alliance to include Toyota now taking a larger stake in Subaru while Subaru buying shares equal to the value of those purchase by Toyota. Both automakers will also be sharing knowledge on all-wheel drive, battery-electric powertrain, connected/autonomous driving tech and more.

On top of that, they will also work on the next-gen Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ model but that is all we know about the upcoming models right now. Toyota did add that they will try to have the 86 surpass the Supra which is not going to be easy since the SUpra was pretty well receive and the 86 did not really get that much attention the last time.

While there won’t be much details now, we are hoping to learn more about the twins soon.
