Nissan Leaf e+ Vs Hyundai Kona: Should Hyundai Be Worried?

By  |

Nissan has recently taken the covers their Nissan Leaf e+ model which will come with a larger battery pack and of course more range but how will be fare when it goes up agaisnt some of the other EVs we have in the market now like the Hyundai Kona?

The Nissan Leaf e+ will be coming in with an electric motor that will be offering about 216hp and 250lb ft of torque. The vehicle will be able to offer about 226 miles of electric range. The Hyundai Kona electric on the other hand will come in with a 201hp engine with 290lb ft of torque. The Kona will be able to offer about 258miles of range which means the Kona still has a slight advantage here.

What the Nissan Leaf e+ has in their favor is the size as it is about a foot longer than the Kona which would also mean more interior space. We still do not know how much the Nissan Leaf e+ will cost but it will have the advantage of having a full $7500 tax credit as Nissan has not sold 200,000 electric cars yet.
