Scion tC’s Death Set To Revive Toyota Celica?

By  |

Toyota’s sub-brand Scion has bowed out of the automotive industry and this leaves a void for Toyota to fill. We have already seen Toyota replacing the Scion FRS with the 86 and now, it looks like Toyota is planning a replacement for the tC.

It was discovered earlier today that Toyota had just filed a new trademark – “Celica”. Those that have been following Toyota’s sports history will be familiar with this name as the Celica is one of the hottest affordable performance vehicles from the 90s.

The Celica was right up there alongside the Corolla, 86 and also the Supra. We have already seen a new 86 and are about to witness the return of the Supra. If the pattern is to continue, Toyota is bound to revive the Celica.

Toyota has yet to mention anything about the Celica hence we can’t tell on what the vehicle will have to offer. If it is up to us, we would love to see the Celica sizing up to challenge the Ford Mustang.

The 1964 Mustang is one of the reasons Toyota created the Celica and it would be exciting to see the next-gen model aiming to outpace the Mustang.
