Tesla Autopilot Stepping Up Against Nissan Leaf

By  |

It looks like Tesla has realized the threat that comes with the next-gen Nissan Leaf, especially after hearing about the ProPilot system that will debut with the car. Nissan revealed that the ProPilot system is their brand of autonomous technology and it is described as something that is better than Autopilot.

Well, Tesla would prefer to disagree with that and they stood their ground by preparing a massive update for the Autopilot system. Tesla revealed that the Model S and Model X that are developed since October 2016 are fully equipped with autonomous technology but they have been restricted via software.

The upcoming update will release more autonomous features on both the Model S and X by offering Traffic-Aware Cruise Control, Parallel + Perpendicular Autopark, Summon, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward + Side Collision Warning, Autosteer and Auto Lane Change.

With the update, the Model S and Model X will be more capable of self-driving and this raises the bar for the upcoming Nissan Leaf. It will be very interesting to see how Nissan responds to this.
