Volkswagen Still Not Giving Up On Diesel Yet

It might have looks like Volkswagen has diverted their attention to electric vehicles after the diesel scandals but it looks they might not have to abandon their diesel engines yet.

Accordign to the reprots, Volkswagen’s diesel car sales almost double in Germany. According to Jurgan Stackmann, the VW Brand Board Member for Sales, the high efficiency of diesel engines along with its performance and climate change mean that diesel engines will still play an important role especially for those that travel long distances.

Volkswagen also stated that their diesel engines are more fuel efficient than a similar size petrol unit but on top of that, it also emits 15% less carbon dioxide.

With this kind of numbers, we don’t see why Volkswagen would stop offering diesel engine powered models anytime soon.
