Volvo Issues Recall Over Fuel Leaks, 200K Affected

By  |

Volvo will be issuing a recall after it was discovered that an engineering issue could lead to fuel leakage in the engine compartment over time.

According to the reports, some vehicles might have cracks inside the fuel lines in the engine compartment which would lead to fuel leaking in the engine compartment. The recall will affect about 219,000 units of vehicles. A total of 11 models will be affected. These models were those produced in 2015 and 2016.

Volvo added that no injuries or damages related to this issue was reported but they wanted to recall the vehicles to prevent anything from happening in the future.

No word on when the recalls will start or when Volvo will start informing their customers. The countries with the most affected models are Sweden, UK and Germany.

The largest recall that Volvo has made was the one back in 2004 where 460K models were recalled due to a wiring issue with the electronic control module.
