GTA 5: New Milestone Taking The Light Off RDR2

By  |

If Red Dead Redemption 2 is a real-life person, he or she is probably in shambles right now and this is due to being in the shadows of GTA 5.

Think about it. Red Dead Redemption 2 is on the verge of making its debut but the headlines are still mostly about GTA 5. We all get it that GTA 5 is the most profitable game around and it has blessed Rockstar with many years without needing an IP to balance their chequebooks but there has to be a time for GTA 5 to step down and give room for Red Dead Redemption 2 to grow.

This may happen in the future and not right now because the attention has returned to GTA 5. It cannot be avoided as the game is about to become the third game ever to sell 100 million copies. As it stands, 95 million copies of GTA 5 has been sold and this is about 5-million short of the achievement.

Fans of GTA 5 have started cheering for the game to make the accomplishment and this includes the majority of those that hated Rockstar for the poor treatment of single player mode. As for Red Dead Redemption 2, the game is probably praying hard that GTA 5 won’t disrupt its fairy-tale debut.
