Ubisoft Wants To Destroy Sea Of Thieves With Black Flag Standalone!

If there is one thing which gamers need right now, it is a detailed virtual experience of life as a pirate. Microsoft’s Sea of Thieves was thought to be that game but it’s pure multiplayer nature and lack of content has repelled away more gamers than expected.

For fans of pirates, the closest real experience of the sea in video games is through a mini-game in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. The sea voyage-themed Assassin’s Creed game has got a wonderful sea mechanics and Ubisoft can simply use the model to create a new pirate-themed standalone IP.

It may sound like a wishful thinking from fans at first but Ubisoft has now decided to confirm on the game’s development. Ubisoft revealed that they have been working on a pirate-themed video game called Skull & Bones and the game is targeting to make its debut next year.

While the details are unavailable at the moment, we can expect Skull & Bones to get influenced heavily by Assassin’s Creed Black Flag and it will get boosted by a stellar plot and a detailed take at life of a pirate.

If Skull & Bones is to meet our expectation, we don’t see why gamers will continue to linger around Sea of Thieves.
