It was revealed that the Apple Watch Series 4 would be getting the ECG features and after the initial announcement, the update finally arrived and here is how Series 4 owners can use it.

The new ECG feature will be able to detect signs of atrial fibrillation which is a serious form of irregular heart rhythm. To get started, you need to update your Watch and iPhone to the latest watchOS 5.1.2.

After the update, you can tap the ECG app to open it. You need to be sure that the watch is fit snugly on your wrist. Place your finger on the watch’s Digital Crown for 30 seconds. After the countdown, lift your finger off the Digital Crown.

The device should now show the result. While the result will not tell you that you have a heart attack, stroke, blood clot or other heart-related conditions but if the result is concerning, you might want to see a doctor as soon as you can.
