AT&T Expands Reach Of 5G Network

By  |

It seems like everybody is talking about 5G right now with smartphone manufacturers like Samsung and Huawei all rushing to release smartphones that support 5G network. Now, AT&T has announced that they will be covering 7 more cities with their 5G network.

So what does 5G network really work? 5G is split into two, low-frequency and high frequency and they will be using this to create a more potent network with faster data speeds.

Of course, to make use of it, the device will actually have to support it and now, we only have a hand full of devices that actually support it including the new Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, OnePlus 5G, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G, ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G, Huawei Mate X, LG V50 ThinQ and the new Samsung Galaxy Fold.

Even if you have the device that supports 5G, your city will need to be covered by the carrier and AT&T is expanding fast with coverage of about 19 cities right now.

As exciting as it sounds, it will probably take years before it is fully adopted.
