HTC U12 Plus: Android Pie Can’t Undo The Damage!

By  |

It’s going to be a long wait till the end of 2018 for HTC and this is due to the huge losses which the company has experienced since the start of the year.

Well, to be more precise, HTC has been unable to get out of their financial deficit for more than 2 years already and they have got themselves to blame for it.

The latest U12+, or U12 Plus, is the best example of this as the phone has botched it by removing a USB Type-C to AUX dongle. It’s already bad enough that the older U11 established the removal of 3.5mm audio jack and now, HTC has decided to not offer the feature with the U12+.

The absence of the dongle has turned many interested consumers away to look at other options in the market thus explaining the huge losses. The good news here is that HTC pledged earlier today that they will be quick with the release of Android Pie for the U12+.

Such a promise will earn them some praises from consumers but it won’t be enough to turn their fortunes around.

The main reason HTC U12+ failed is that the “Edge Sense” feature was full of bugs when the phone was released. This resulted in savage reviews which put off several potential buyers (like myself).

HTC has now fixed the issues with an update but it’s now too late.

Most people have drawn a line across HTC U12+ and have moved on.
