LG G8 ThinQ Takes Security To The Next Level

By  |

LG had a lot to announce this week including the new LG G8 ThinQ and while we do like what the device has to offer in terms of specs but what got our attention was the new unlocking features.

While most smartphone manufacturers are choosing to unlock their device with fingerprint or face recognition, LG has decided to take it further with a palm vein authentication using their Z Camera with ToF technology.

The camera is able to identify the owners by matching the shape, thickness and the other characteristic of the veins of the owners in the palms of their hands and it only takes the system a split second to unlock the device.

You can also fool it by showing it a palm picture of the owner’s hand as it sees in 3D.

Besides that, the LG G8 ThinQ will be sporting a 6.1 inch QHD+ display. It will also be offering about 6GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. In the back is a 16MP and 12MP rear camera. It will also be powered by a 3500mAh battery pack.
