Microsoft Sings Hello Goodbye For Surface Book 2

It was only a while ago that reports were springing up about the arrival of the Microsoft Surface Book 2 next month, basing the speculation on anonymous sources from the company’s supply chain. This time, those reports are being contradicted by another unnamed source, according to GSMArena.

Apparently Microsoft’s would still hold its spring event, but without the Surface Book 2 reveal in the itinerary. Perhaps the company has the Surface Pro 5 lined up instead. Or maybe there won’t be any new Surface devices to showcase.

What’s certain, however, is the unveiling of the Windows 10 Creators Update at the event. If that’s the case, then the occasion would be a lot less exciting than we had hoped, given that Apple didn’t really make any waves with its recent unveiling of a cheaper, less potent version of the iPad.

The current Surface Book was introduced back in October 2015, so it’s already overdue for a successor. Right now, word is that its sequel is going to jettison the 2-in-1 design for a more conventional laptop build, and that its starting price would be no more than $1,000.
