Motorola Moto G7 vs One Power: The End Of the G-Series?

By  |

In the pace of 3 months, Lenovo launched two new phones under the Motorola brand and they are the Moto G6 and the One Power. The two devices share one thing in common and it is the same desire to become the best smartphone in the midrange scene.

But when comparing the price and specs of both phones, you will learn that the One Power is the better choice of the two. For less than $300, you’ll get the Snapdragon 636 with Adreno 509 and 4GB of RAM. The One Power also features a 6.2” QHD screen with a notch and dual-lens rear camera. The icing on the cake is with the One Power’s battery that has a capacity of 5,000mAh.

With such a package, it made us wonder on the fate of the long-serving G-Series. We personally thought that the One Power will make the G6 the last of the G-Series but we were wrong. Just yesterday, leaks have surfaced online pinpointing the release of the Moto G7.

The latter is expected to arrive in the first-half of 2019 and it will come with a waterdrop notch on the display. At a glance, we are already turned down by the looks of the device. The Moto G7, however, is expected to impress on the performance front although it is not likely for the phone to have a 5,000mAh battery.

The way we see it, Lenovo will decide on the fate of the Moto G-Series by measuring sales of the upcoming G7. If the phone can sell better than the One Power, the G-Series will get a life extension. Otherwise, the One Power will be the new direction for Motorola.
