BMW 5 Series Update Includes Mild-Hybrid System

The BMW 5-Series will be coming in with some upgrades this fall including the addition of a mild-hybrid system.

According to BMW, the 520d sedan and wagon model will now come equipped with a 48V starter-generator and second battery. What the starter-generator does it that it allows the engine to be shit off completely during costing which will help greatly with keeping the vehicle more fuel-efficient. On top of that, it can also act as an electric motor.

The M550d xDrive Sedan and Touring model will also come with the BMW Laserlights now which is said to have a high-beam range of 2133ft. The M135i xDrive, on the other hand, will also be offered with an M Performance package which will come with features like the high-gloss black grille with mirror caps and exhaust tips and more.

Besides the 5-Series, the other BMW models like the 8-Series Gran Coupe, X5, X6, and X7 will also be getting some upgrades.
