With IIHS now being so much stricter when it comes to their testing, a few models are finding it harder to get the Top Safety Pick + rating from IIHS but that is not some the 2020 Mercedes GLE-Class will have to worry about.
Of course, the rating is only offered to models that are fitted with the optional Exterior Lighting Package as the standard static LED headlight was only given an Acceptable rating.
The adaptive LED lights, on the other hand, will have active curve illumination and automatic high beams which help it earned the much-coveted Top Safety Pick + rating.
The 2020 Mercedes GLE-Class was also given a Goof rating for the other six crash tests that IIHS put it through. The Pre-Safe Plus was also about to lower the speed of the vehicle to 4mph from 25mph.
